Privacy Notice

Effective date: 28 July 2026 · Version 1.0

This notice explains what happens to information when you visit the Weavidence public website at weavidence.com, including its product pages and the Weavidence Insights publication. It describes this site's actual current behavior rather than a generic website configuration.

Who operates this site

Weavidence is an independent project founded and operated by Pietro Corona, based in Cagliari, Italy, who is the controller for the data described below for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Contact: info@weavidence.com.

Scope

This notice covers the public website at weavidence.com: the ecosystem landing page, Academy, Journey and Lab product-information pages, Weavidence Insights articles and editorial pages, the RSS feed, and the legal and error pages. Weavidence Journey, reached at app.weavidence.com, is a separate service with its own privacy notice and is not covered once you leave this site.

What this site actually does

This is a predominantly static, informational and editorial website. It:

  • does not use cookies;
  • does not run analytics, advertising, behavioural profiling, or tracking scripts;
  • does not ask visitors to create an account or log in;
  • does not operate a server-side contact, comment, or newsletter form;
  • does not collect search terms entered into the local Insights filter;
  • stores only the browser-display preferences described below.

Browser storage and local preferences

The site's localStorage entry user-preferences-storagerecords two display choices: the selected light or dark theme and whether the landing-page background is Still or Ambient. These values remain in your browser until you change them or clear the site's stored data. They are read only to reproduce your chosen presentation.

The landing page also stores an introSeen flag insessionStorage so the opening logo sequence is not replayed repeatedly during the same tab session. It is cleared when that browser session ends. These values do not contain a name, email address, account identifier, or advertising identifier; the site's code does not transmit them to Weavidence or use them for analytics, profiling, or cross-site tracking.

The storage is limited to user-requested interface behavior. If browser settings or extensions block it, the content remains available and the site falls back to its default presentation.

Insights search, Follow page, and RSS

Insights search and filtering run locally in your browser against the article information already delivered with the page. Search text and filter choices are not submitted to a server or retained by this site. The Follow page can copy the public RSS address to your clipboard only after you activate its Copy control. The RSS file at /feed.xmlis a public publication feed and does not subscribe, identify, or notify an individual visitor by itself.

Email enquiries

Links labelled for contact or discussion open your own email application. The website does not receive or store anything you type before your email provider sends it. If you send a message to info@weavidence.com, the message, address, headers, and related delivery information are processed to receive and answer the enquiry, manage reasonable follow-up, and protect legitimate project interests.

Server and hosting logs

This site is hosted on Vercel. Hosting infrastructure ordinarily creates technical request and security logs when a page or asset is requested, which may include an IP address, date and time, requested path, response status, and browser user-agent. The website's own application code does not read those logs or combine them with a visitor profile. Vercel acts as a processor for the hosting activity described here.

Fonts and external requests

Site typefaces are self-hosted from weavidence.com. Reading the site does not request fonts from Google Fonts. The public pages are designed not to make analytics, advertising, social-media widget, or other third-party runtime requests. Following an external link, including the Journey application or a cited source, takes you to a service governed by that service's own privacy information.

Purposes and legal basis

Technical hosting and security processing is carried out for the legitimate interest in operating, protecting, and diagnosing this public website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The strictly limited browser-storage values support presentation choices requested by the visitor and are not used for tracking or advertising. Email enquiries are processed to respond to the request and manage related correspondence; depending on the request, this may concern steps requested before a possible relationship under Article 6(1)(b), or the legitimate interest in handling correspondence under Article 6(1)(f).

Recipients and service providers

Vercel provides hosting and processes the technical request information necessary to deliver and protect the site. Email providers process messages sent to info@weavidence.com to provide delivery, storage, spam filtering, and security. Weavidence does not sell or rent visitor or correspondence data and does not disclose it for advertising or behavioural profiling.

International transfers

A hosting or email provider may process limited data outside the European Economic Area. Where that occurs, the provider and controller rely on the transfer mechanisms and safeguards required by applicable data-protection law. Current provider-specific details are available in the provider's own privacy and transfer documentation.

Retention

Theme and motion preferences remain only in your browser until changed or cleared; the intro flag ends with the browser session. Hosting-log retention is controlled at the hosting layer. Email correspondence is retained only for as long as needed to answer the enquiry, manage reasonable follow-up, protect legitimate interests, and meet applicable legal obligations, then deleted or appropriately archived.

Security

The site is delivered over HTTPS and uses restrictive browser security headers. It has no public account system, payment processing, upload facility, or server-side web form. No security measure is perfect and no certified or guaranteed security claim is made. Suspected vulnerabilities can be reported to info@weavidence.com.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, where applicable, you may ask to access, correct, erase, restrict, or obtain personal data held about you, and may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact info@weavidence.com to make a request. You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian data-protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or another competent supervisory authority.

Children

The public website concerns professional scientific learning, research design, analysis, and public-health methods. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly request information from them.

Changes to this notice

This notice is updated before material changes to the site's data practices, such as adding analytics, an account system, a subscription service, or a server-side form. The effective date above identifies the current version.
